Old Dachtel Slideshow
As we were learning more and more about the ancestral roots of many of our family members in the village of Dachtel, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, we were fortunate to discover a book of old photos taken in the late 19th and early 20th Century. The book is entitled Dachtel und Deufringen in alten Ansichten compiled by Hans Mozer, and shows the many aspects of village life in earlier times. The following photos were selected from this book.
One of the most exciting family events took place in June 2008. A group of Eisenharts and Isenharts from the United States gathered in Dachtel to walk in the steps of our ancestors and meet our present day cousins. This slideshow shows some of the many highlights from this intercontinental reunion.
As a change of pace, we converted this video clip from the October 2008 reunion into an “old time movie” format. The event was held at the Spring Valley Inn near Bethlehem, and those present shared information, photos, and good fellowship. The time passed all too quickly, and we regret that not everyone was captured on videotape.
Both before and after the Eisenhart Family reunion, participants took advantage of their time in Pennsylvania to visit historical and family places of interest. Here is a slideshow of photos from some of the places visited.
